Equipment Notes:
Gases Mining can be just a few types of gas in space and typically found in depleted Asteroid Fields.
Common gases are Hydrogen, Helium, Argon, Argonium (helium+argon),
Methane, Ammonia and Exotic  (from most abundant to least). Sample of introductory Mission. Factions; Civilian, Rebel and/or Syndicate to compete with Proxima.

Security items are necessary for Prisoner Transfer and Bounty Hunting (NPC's) missions.

Exploration and Research resources such as Beacons, Space buoys, Drones and Warp Gates.
Ship Notes:
Various ships introduced via Missions or for the new Explorer Skill.

Bases Notes:
Bases treated just like ships and can be equipped with much of the same components and crew, but are immobile.
Acquiring player home bases and components can be mission driven to introduce the concept and construction of such, including pros and cons of each. Such as, occupying a previously held Pirate Hideout will attract Marauders and Civilian attack ships until base is established (Reputation); Any Space Station construction will be time consuming and expensive; and Planet Bases are permanent structures even if destroyed or abandoned (Debris Salvage possible) and will require aerodynamic Shuttles or Yachts to get to, including transfer of personnel and equipment.

Additional Information:
The 'Explorer' skill is a great addition to the game. A few new items would help with this skill. Jetisonable beacons and buoys to mark locations are good examples. Like 'Junk', markers would stay in place once deployed.

Bounty Hunting can be a challenge for players to locate and apprehend wanted NPC's. Some ideas include being able to 'ask'/'hail' Contacts for clues to their whereabouts; Ship transporting fugitive, when captured with a Tractor Beam, could try to get away using an Escape Pod or Shuttle (aboard capital ships).

Planet Side bases may be too complex to include, but would be great. Specialized ships would be needed to counter these type bases, such as Bombers. A simple boxed 'X' icon over a planet could be used to indicate a planet-side base.

You may be saying to yourself...

'This guy is way into the game or has too much time on his hands.'

Actually, yes, on both accounts. However, this amount of detail was needed for a Graphic Novel that I have been putting together since 2009 called 'Reclamation' which is a space based adventure. This shipyard is a predominate feature in the story, Bloodmoon Shadows, and is the main characters ship used to salvage wrecks in an old war zone. Sounds familiar, right? To create the 3D images for the novel, I had to create the ship in detail for the scenes to have continuity. So, I might as well share.
