Missions Overview |
Proposed player missions to add a deeper level of play to the
game.
Each mission links to a description page. Clicking [ Decline ] will bring
you back here. Most Missions will have different threads and different outcomes.
Follow the selectable choices on each panel to proceed with the story based
on your choice. Reload the mission, scroll up or in some cases use the browsers
Back button to replay and selecting a different thread. Rewards and penalties
await.
Most of the Missions are fairly straight forward and will need little
explanation. Others can be more involved or take very odd twists. It should
not be difficult to implement these Missions for the Players to enjoy, or
just ignore. By no means should any Mission disrupt already established (or
future) events within the current game.If something doesn't fit, changes
can be made.
Goals for Personalized Missions;
1.) Establish contact with NPC- Social contacts can add flavor and story
background to the game. Players have a chance to make influential friends,
or enemies, through these character driven missions. 'Contacts' can play
an important role for Player advancement and lead to new adventures or
knowledge.
2.) Adjust social status- Depending on the Player's choices, reputation can
be effected positive or negative.
3.) Introduce the concept of being paid for services with precious metals,
like gold and silver. This lets the player keep the metals to use, or sell
them for credits.
4.) Bring new equipment and devices into the game. Using a Mission is a great
way to introduce new gear.
5.) Give the game a more tangible feel by expanding the game background or
community flavor. The Zero-G Hockey scenarios are just one example.
6.) A feeling of "There is life outside the cockpit."
Mechanics:
Most all sequences of Missions are through pop up overlays, similar to how
the A.G.E. overlay panels are
used. Being somewhat familiar with coding, I tried to design these to
make adding them fairly easy. You can use my images or create your own, it's
up to you, but credit/compensation would be appreciated.
Personal Note: I have been an avid role playing gamer for over 40 years (Yes,
I am that old, and yes to the original D&D game), including owning a
game and hobby store for several year. I have most always been the Game Master
and have run many, many successful campaigns. This is where the storytelling
background comes from. I have an endless array of ideas to help flush out
the game universe. If you like these, say the word and I'll do more. Got
an idea or feature you want fleshed out, let me know and I'll write up something
to introduce it.
