The Balcony Pt. 1

Add a few more Metal Floors around the outside.

From the balcony, you are able to target and kill the Mutants that attack you from a place of safety.

But don't stop here. Keep building on your base. Eventually raiders will show up with crossbows and guns and you will have no cover.

Secure Sleep

Create a Simple Bed from the Inventory menu and place it in the left corner.

Be sure it doesn't extend over the edges of the floor.

If you are low on Energy or Health, you can sleep securely at this point.

1st Floor:
Planning Ahead

Add a Metal Barrel. This is where you can store your loot. Feel free to add additional barrels.

By this point, you should have a Bow. Be sure to store a good supply of Arrows and Strawberries.

HINT: If in the event you die and select respawn to your Simple Bed, you will still have your bow, but not your arrows.

Complete Balcony

Build five more floors creating a ring with the opening directly above the two foundations pieces.

Back Wall

Create the back wall. The window can be anywhere you choose, but it is a good idea to have at least one.

Don't worry about adding window shutters at this point.

Create the remaining walls as shown.

Interior Columns

Add four metal columns on top of the foundation posts.

These will support the 2nd floor pieces.

At this point you are mostly protected. But more protection will be needed.

Barricades

Set up a defensive barrier around the front deck area.

These Barricade pieces give 3000 hit points of protection each.

Planters

Add a row of planters to the fortification. You can shoot from behind these where you can't from the corner barricades.
